It all started when…
All of my life goals have revolved around the natural environment and quality place-making. I see architecture as a built portion of a larger world, where inside and outside are inherently linked. Educated at University of Oregon, my eco-friendly approach to design was fully internalized long ago, well before the current interest in sustainable architecture. (A long overdue movement, but very much welcomed.) I enjoy drawing, design, writing, reading—literature, philosophy, science, history—teaching, travel, cooking, gardening, children, animals and important causes (education, environment, health and wellbeing…).
I have written two books on architectural design principles, that are part of a series called Simple Rules for Architects & Designers that you can check out here if you are interested.
