Shannon Scarlett, Principal/Owner/Registered Architect
I see architecture as a built portion of a larger world, where inside and outside are inherently linked.
Educated at University of Oregon, my eco-friendly approach to design was fully internalized long ago, well before the current interest in sustainable architecture. (A long overdue, but very much welcomed design movement.)
My free time is usually spent sketching, design, writing, reading—anything from literature and philosophy, to science and history. I enjoy teaching, traveling, cooking, gardening, and spending quality time with children, animals, and on important causes (education, environment, health and wellbeing…).
I have written two books on architectural design principles that are part of a series called Simple Rules for Architects & Designers, you can check them out here if you are interested.
